 1.  Changes to Renewal Timeline
The 2017 licence renewal process begins on October 3, 2016.
To meet the legislated January 15 deadline for licence renewal, the College requests that physicians submit a fully completed renewal application, pay the annual fee, and provide any explanatory material asked of you by the College as part of the renewal process, to the College no later than December 16, 2016.
2.  New Online Renewal Process

Beginning with this renewal year, the College will only be offering the annual licence renewal process online. No paper renewal forms will be produced or accepted.
This year, the College has implemented a new licence renewal system which utilizes a new online Physician Portal. All 2017 Licence and Professional Medical Corporation (PMC) renewals will be renewed using this system.
Details and login credentials will be emailed to all members on October 3, 2016.
3.  Deadline
Under the Medical Act, 2011, all medical licences in Newfoundland and Labrador expire on January 15.  Any physician who has not completed all requirements of the licence renewal process by January 15, 2017 will face an immediate administrative loss of licence.
4.  Fee Structure

Applications received prior to December 16, 2016 - $1750 
Applications received between December 16, 2016 and January 15, 2017 - $2050
Applications received after January 15, 2017 - $2150 plus Administrative Loss of Licence
5.   Changes to Third Party Payment
Beginning with this renewal year, the College will no longer be accepting third party payment as a method of paying for the Annual Licence Renewal.  Members will be required, as part of the renewal process, to provide either a Visa or MasterCard number to complete the application.
