Did You Know...
Typical of the modern health facilities in many parts of rural Newfoundland and Labrador, the Calder Health Centre in Burgeo, on the south coast of Newfoundland, houses 18 long-term care beds, a palliative care bed and two acute care beds to meet the health care needs of the 2,000 people in its service area. A typical, modern health centre of this type in Newfoundland and Labrador includes medical, nursing, diagnostic and laboratory services as well as pharmacy and rehabilitation support.
