Physician Search
To conduct a search, enter one or more of the criteria listed and then click on "Search". Follow the on-screen instructions to move through the list. To view a detailed listing on an individual physician or surgeon, click on the individual name.
If you click “Search” but do not enter any criteria, you will get a complete list of all physicians and surgeons, sorted alphabetically by the physician’s last name.
If you search by community, make sure you search neighbouring communities. If you are looking for a physician or surgeon in St. John’s, for example, remember there are 12 separate communities that make up the metropolitan area. The directory lists each community separately.
The 12 communities in the St. John’s metro area are:

The directory lists all general practitioners and specialists who currently hold a license to practice medicine in Newfoundland and Labrador and who are currently in practice. It also includes residents who are enrolled in postgraduate training in the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University who hold a modified provisional license.
The list does not include licensed general practitioners or specialists who are no longer practicing in Newfoundland and Labrador even though they may hold a license.
Regional Health Authorities, pharmacies or other agencies inquiring about a particular physician's licensure status should contact the College (cpsnl@cpsnl.ca or 709.726.8546) for further information.
The College updates this directory daily. The College makes every effort to ensure this information is up-to-date however, physicians are responsible for informing the College when there is a change in their practice information.
General practitioners accepting new patients are listed in a separate directory.
Specialists typically require a referral from a family physician for an appointment.
